Macaroni & Cheese

From the Kitchen of: Cindy Franchak (Kat’s sister)…and on the back of Mueller’s box
 
 
Ingredients:
  •  2 Tbsp cornstarch
  •  1 tsp salt
  •  ½ tsp dry mustard
  •  ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 ½ c milk
  • 2 Tbsp Margarine or butter
  • 2 c (8 oz) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz Mueller’s Elbows (@ 2 cups), cooked 5 minutes and drained
Topping:
  • 2 Tbsp Margarine
  • ½ c Italian bread crumbs
Directions: 
  • In medium saucepan combine cornstarch, salt, dry mustard and pepper; stir in milk.
  • Add margarine.
  • Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium-high heat and boil 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in 2 cups of cheese until melted.
  • Add elbows.
  • Pour into greased 2-qt. casserole dish.
  • Melt 2 Tbsp of butter in saucepan and add ½ c of Italian bread.
  • Mix together and put topping on macaroni and cheese.
  • Bake uncovered on 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned.
