She Said: “As Luck Would Have It, Part I”

January 29, 2010 by Kat

Okay, I feel bad for the man… but I don’t at the same time. I thought he was going to have a MAJOR whining session on his post about how sick he was. Let’s face it; guys are retardedly more needy, whiney and vulnerable than chicks (I can literally see all of the NODS from said chicks). If I’m on my death bed, I still have to get up off my as$, drive the kids back and forth a few hours a day, AND nail out the same hours of work that I do on the days I feel like Mary Poppins. I __ DO ___ NOT ___ HAVE ____ A ____ CHOICE !!!

Yes, I suspected something was up when yesterday I had to respond, “what… WHAT…. HUh…. WHAT!?!?!?????” 17 times during 1 phone conversation y’day morn’.   Hubby was coughing incessantly; the last — and only time I’ve ever seen this — was last year when he had the flu.  You could have mistaken him for a premie in the NICU. Crying, whining, sleeping (the whole day away… WHAT MOM WOULD EVER, EVER DO THAT?).

In fact, I was HONESTLY really torn last night about still going. Sweet man said, “This is why I didn’t tell you I wasn’t feeling well today… you’re definitely STILL GOING!” I debated in my heart over and over…. and figured that I would just follow my instinct and “know” when it’s right, whether or not I should go.

I set the alarm for 4:30 am. I figured if he didn’t cough all night, I’d wake up and go. So, I woke up and went. Details to follow.

Again, he’s “Fine”. Was cracking jokes left and right on the phone, reminded me not to cheat on him or flirt this weekend, and was overall “chipper”. So, my wonderful Mother-In-Law… your son is FINE with a capital “F”. And, I deserve this weekend!

In fact, I’m on a party bus heading to a winery right now. Ask me if I feel bad?

UGH! It’s that time. The hubs is sick and of course – you know what that means…it’s like having double the amount of children you have sick all at once. There’s a real scientific method to it.

My neighbor asked me to go to dinner with her and her girly friends last night. Not happening.

    Have fun for me!!!

    xx

Hopefully you have good cell reception at the winery – give me a call when you can – Sawyer has a fever! Since you’re not responding to my calls or texts, maybe you’ll answer a comment!

So good to know that all of the girls on trip are able to manage a normal days work and responsibilities, regardless of whether they are sick or not! Damn, I knew you gals were tough!! I will print this article and keep a copy handy as a point of reference should any of our lady friends get sick in the near future!! Enjoy the winery!! We’ll save some snowcreme for ya!!
