Works-for-me-Wednesdays: Getting lil ones to take Antibiotics!

February 3, 2010 by Kat

First of all… MAN, do I wish I came up with the blog title We Are That Family because, WE ARE SOOOO THAT FAMILY, it’s not even funny. The looks we get are piercing; unreal.

Anywho, the idea is that on Wednesdays, I am to share an inside tip on something that has truly changed my life. I link up with other like-minded bloggers who have all done the same, and voila. Lucky you, lucky you — you’re my test audience.

Okay, this is ridiculously simple, but has changed the lives, and ears, of all parties involved.

Mission:  Getting 4 kids to take disgusting liquid that’ll make your (and their) nose hairs poke your eyes out (and burst your ear drums)

~ STIR WELL!!! ~

Be sure to ADD THE POWDER Nesquik after you measure it… NOT before. It will ruin and skew the accurate measurement.

Genius! I am going to try this with sudafed too. They hate that stuff!

Great idea! I was on about the 15th round of antibiotics with my daughter before I finally decided to try putting it in a small cup of milk heavily loaded with strawberry syrup.

after my 2 year old refused to take his antibiotic and spit it all over (I think the syringe scared him too) I called the pharmacist and he told me to just mix it in some chocolate pudding. worked like a charm!

GREAT idea. Wouldn’t have thought of that! Has your child ever not been able to finish the pudding, though? I guess that’s a stupid question! Kids + choc. pudding = heaven!

  4. Great tip. Grandson hasn’t needed them . . . yet. But I use homeopathic remedies – a lot. Used them since he was an infant.
btw – you have 4 (FOUR!) kids? How d’ya find time to even write?
