I was on Oprah Radio !!
February 12, 2010 by Kat
Running late, as usual this morning. However, insert everything happens for a reason cliche here (!). I was rushing to my office (at Starbucks, of course), after dropping off the 4 kiddos when I decided to turn off the damn Dora the Explorer DVD that I had JUST realized was STILL playing in the background — for 10 straight minutes, and NOT ONE kid was even in the car!
Anyway, I pull in to Starbucks, am about to turn off the ignition, when I faintly hear: “If you have an online dating success story, call me, Gayle King, at 1-866-OPRAHXM, again 1-866-OPRAHXM”.
Oh, the blood was flowing. Do I hop inside and start my workday (not as a Barista, but working remotely for the company I co-own, or do I take the challenge? I KNEW KNEW KNEW Hubs and I have a killer story (one in which we haven’t fully revealed to our readers), but a story I ironically was asked about last night, “how’d you meet your husband, again?” while at a neighbor’s party.
But, (a) I’ve never called into a talk radio show in my life [upper lip just sweats thinking about this], and (b) what are the chances that I, miniscule little me, would get chosen to be LIVE, ON AIR, with Oprah’s BFF, Gayle King? I listen to the Gayle King Show ANY chance I get… I hold her up on a pedastal. She’s just soo down to earth; grounded; real.
Anyway, trying to download the dialogue with Gayle, and attempt to get it on YouTube. It was truly a thrill.
STAY TUNED! I’ll upload it to the Blog in a new post so you can hear it.

how exciting! going to read the story of your first meeting now

Any remote association with Oprah makes you a celebrity. Actually being on Oprah’s radio show practically makes you an A lister! I used to listen to Gayle every morning while driving from house to house. (I’m a home health SLP.) I’m surprised I didn’t hear you.
