Stuck in House on Valentine’s Day?

February 13, 2010 by Kat

Okay, got this cute (and fairly quick — and let me say… LAST MINUTE!!) Valentine’s Day craft from Joanne at Ready, Set, Craft.

My oldest child, and only daughter, each made one. The problem/difference is that I’m “only” expecting love notes from her, my 3 sons, and my hubby in it. She’s expecting a PRESENT. Not joking. And, not happening.

Just had to share in case your sons or daughters are begging you for some one on one tomorrow. It’s easy, and can be displayed on their bedroom doors, in the kitchen… whatever!

All you need for one craft is:
- 2 paper plates
- glue
- markers of crayons
- ribbon
- stapler
- scissors

You can either make your own hearts or Google “free valentine’s day clip art” or “hearts clip art” and find a solution.

Cut one paper plate in 1/2 (see above). Have the newly cut paper plate face the whole one, and staple. Then, color in all of the clip art images if necessary. Attach all items, write the names, and then attach the ribbon. Have fun, and use your imagination!

Here’s the result!

(I let my children — as HARD as it is NOT to have control of their every move — express themselves the way they want, especially in art).  I hope all mothers do the same!

Ooh what a cute craft idea! I’m going to save this for a rainy day with the kids to be fair, not just for Valentine’s. That said, they are on half term this week, think I should give this a go to entertain them. I WILL force them to love me….foooooorced looooove…Thanks for sharing xx
