Not Me! Mondays
Not Me!Monday was born out a MckMama’s desire to admit some of her imperfections and reveal a few moments she’d rather forget. I found it therapeutic to join in.
Here I Go:
I did not look like this yesterday while hubby was (probably) playing the Wii with one of the boys, I was nursing a fever, and trying to pay a bill on the phone:
I did not order a case of this Prosecco via phone yesterday at Wine101, for pick up on Tuesday (honey, please note that you’ll be picking it up on the way home from work). And, yes… a case. And, no… no one else in the house drinks it. And, yes… this Prosecco will be going in my sippy cup after I get home from dance drop off today.
I did not spill this same Prosecco on my daughter’s bed while I was hiding from the kids, working on my laptop, some day last week… (who the hell sits a stemmed glass on a bed mattress and ‘just hopes’ it balances?)
I did not just have to call back the Director of one of my son’s preschools to explain why she noticed “a rash”, and was holding him (read: hostage, in her office) until I called back that: “Yes, my son has a contagious skin condition, actually he’s had it for 8 weeks, thanks for noticing now… but unless you’ll be bathing him with the other students or sharing wet towels with them, you’re in the clear” (PS – for fellow Wakefield Club poolers… they will be BURNED off by the summer, no worries there!).
I did not fall asleep sitting up straight this weekend, on what my husband expected to be the most romantic night of his life (can NOT share details; parents are reading); my hands were even still moving on the keyboard while snoozing, at 7:59 pm.
I did not somehow overlook all of the sticky notes around the house, the 7 alarms I have set on my iPhone, or the reminders on my MacBook to send Kindergartner in with his favorite toy for a class project. I do believe I’m the only mother who forgot. I’m pathetic.
