Purification Day 6: “On the Upswing”
Hubby and I finally agreed on something this week:
Monday (Day 6) was the first time we really didn’t crave a glass of wine or a case bottle of Guinness beer. See? We actually don’t have a problem, guys!
This weekend, eating and socializing has been do-able. Not ideal, but definitely do-able. Instead of a Pina Colada up at our pool, I sipped on my Purification shake. Instead of the chicken at dinner with friends, we just doubled up on the garlic broccoli, corn on the cob, asparagus, leeks, and roasted carrots. It was PHENOMENAL. In 5 days, we will be able to add proteins into our day (chix/fish); looking forward to it, I can’t lie.
This weekend I got lots of “Um, yeah… how’s THAT Purification thing going, anyway?” I think people think I may possible fail. Maybe I will There’s no way I will. Especially since I’m publicly doing this, and I will SERIOUSLY go down if I cheat or give up I always reach goals that I set for myself.
In all seriousness, I felt a WORLD of difference better yesterday than I did Thursday and Friday. Looking back, the end of last week was rough. For those of you who have been blessed enough to be pregnant… remember how you felt BEFORE you were showing, esp. around that 4-10 week mark? When your body is working SOO hard to work on something (someone) else? Overall lousy. Lethargic. That you want to crawl up in a bed and not socialize even with an ant. So tired you can’t even tie your shoe. So irritated at anyone who even BREATHES the wrong way. That was me. I believe it was my body working overtime to get all of the toxins I’ve been feeding my body these last 35 years… just trying to make their way out.
However, today I felt fabulous. Not like Freddy Kruger or in my 1st trimester. Just leveled. “Normal”. Overall balanced, as cliche as that sounds.
I did have to use the ladies room at dinner at a friends house last night on 5 occasions, and it wasn’t just to pee (TMI, I know). However, everything is ‘moving right along’ if you catch my drift, and I think we’re on the upswing!
