Purification: Less than 1 week left!
Okay, so I gotta admit. There were many, many moments during the Purification Cleanse these last 2 weeks when I considered throwing in the hat. On a few occasions, I considered seriously chopping the flippin’ head off of the entire program and saying to all of you (not that you really care 1% but I’d like to pretend you all do): “I’m done! My stomach is so bloated, I feel like I’m pregnant with my 5th, I hate everyone around me, and I’m more crabby than I’ve been on my worst PMS day (in the absence of PMS)“. Thankfully, that only lasted a few days. And, thank you to the encouragement of those who have done something similar (Cleanse-wise) and PROMISING me I’ll feel like an entirely different person if I just hold out a few more days.
So, aside from days I wanted to give up altogether, other days I simply had the extreme urge to cheat. Especially with just ooonnnneeeee weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee little sip of wine. In fact, the second (JUST the second day… are you kidding me? Kat — gain control of yourself!!) day I poured a glass and just looked at it. As I picked it up to my lips, the GUILT that soaked me like a turbo water gun (that nailed me like 78 times at the pool this weekend) was so overwhelming I put it down. I left it on my counter for 5 days — as a reminder that it’s SOO not worth it.
However, with only 7 days to go (including today), I can whole-heartedly say I think this Purification may very well go down as one of the best decisions, and journeys (echkt, that totally just sounded like I was on The Bachelorette), I’ve ever done in my life. Yes, I know I’m quite the exaggerator every day of my life from time-to-time. Yes, the above statement is a bold one; no, it’s not an exaggeration.
I feel like an entirely new person. No mood swings (hubs may beg to differ). Sleeping better than I have MY. ENTIRE. LIFE. Am genuinely happy (none of the just faking it til you feel it days this month).
And, I haven’t fallen asleep while at the wheel even once since I started!
Feel like I went from this (getting pulled over by the proverbial JUNK police, red handed):
And, ironically, we were able to add chicken and fish on Friday. We thought we’d be STARVING for it and just SOOO excited that we couldn’t wait that long. Meanwhile, since Friday, we’ve only had fish once, and not even chicken yet. Crazy! Not because we’re holding back, but just have other yummy leftovers and soups to finish up first and we’re not dying for it yet.
