I’d absolutely LOVE to win this set. First of all, who doesn’t love Michael Symon. My husband is the ultimate pork lover. I mean, come on, he’s got 2 websites and several blogs that deem him the Ultimate bacon lover. He’s even been on TV regarding his bacon love. Not only does he love bacon, but he loves pork in general. I know that I’d be pleased as punch to win this so I could give it to him. Drooling already with the possibilities…
I’m kind of over buying presents for others.
I know it’s better to give than receive. No matter how many times I repeat it over and over and over again — in my head or aloud, admittedly, there’s a freaking ginormous a small piece of me that wants to be on the receiving end. Especially Christmas morning. Maybe it reminds me of my mom. She and my dad unselfishly made our Christmases so freaking magical, it was r i d i c u l o u s. I know Christmas is “mostly” for kids, but. I. love. presents. always. did. always. will.
Hubs and I decided we’re not exchanging gifts with each other this year. As a 30-something adult with 4 kids, I should be open-heartedly professing that “It IS all about the kids, anyway.” However, I’d just be doing my job; being the picture perfect mom… saying all the right things. And lying. I’m a girl. I like things. End. of. story.
At first I was all, “Oh, of course not — let’s just get for the kids this year, honey. I don’t really need anything, anyway.” However, as the big day approaches, I’m getting a little bit weepy and feeling a bit like a child. Heck, I just want S O M E T H I N G to open on XMas day. An small appliance? New jeans? Man, I’d even be happy with a few new spices for my collection!

In early December, right after I realized that I want ‘things’ and that’s just the reality, I was asked to work with celeb Chef Michael Symon (Iron Chef, anyone??) to mix up seasonal flavors by pairing pork’s savory flavor with unsuspecting holiday favorites like cinnamon, chocolate and pumpkin. Chef Symon is the man. He can illustrate how pork can be enhanced by almost any ingredient with recipes like “Cider-and-Beer-Braised Pork with Chocolate Mole” and “Coriander and Cumin Roasted Rack of Pork with Five Spice Pumpkin Puree.” I mean, seriously? Are you not drooling?
Chef Michael Symon and his crew are trying to help moms like myself find their perfect pork pairing this holiday, and early into 2011.

I feel you on the receiving gifts thing. Like you, my husband and I also agreed not to exchange gifts this year…and toward the end I too began to regret that agreement. But a little voice in the back of my mind was telling me that MAYBE he would buy me something anyway and surprise me. I hoped and hoped and hoped…and I ended up a little let down. And a little mad. I would love, love to win this, First off I can’t wait to see McCormick fire roasted spices, they sound so delicious and I will be looking for them on the shelves at my grocery store.
